Analysis: The Potential Impact of a National Privacy Law

Security Info Watch: While this legislation is far from being passed into law in our country, we are keeping tabs on The American Data Privacy and Protection Act (H.R. 8152). Most experts believe that this type of legislation will eventually be passed in our country – and it will have a major impact on the security industry and create more user data protections in most states. But it is interesting to note that the California Privacy Protection Agency Board voted to oppose the current draft because they believe it will undermine Californians’ current privacy protections.
